What do you wish you had known then that you know now?

I would love to know what you would most like to tell yourself back when you were first starting your business.

For me, I think the things that I would impress on that past version of myself is:

1. Network, network, network. It is vital that you make daily connections with people - people who will become your future customers, partners, fans, mentors, teachers. Network both offline and online as there is a different energy in both activities that supplement one another.

2. Good enough and done is much better than waiting for perfect.

3. Take some action every day - even when you are in the planning stage, find something that will move you closer to your goal.

4. Do not be afraid of failing - we can learn so much from our mistakes that will increase our chances of success.

5. Never doubt the value that you provide to others nor that that value deserves monetary renumeration.

So now it is your turn to pass on what you have learned. Please comment below

Not so much a wish I’d known as a wish I did… create a back end product after my first one. I stopped the growth of my company trying to sell the one product over and over.

Many of customers were waiting for follow up stuff to buy.

Hate when the “blonde” takes over and makes does stupid things.

Ouch, Ann so hard on yourself! One of my favorite quotations is from Maya Angelou
“You did what you knew how to do, and when you knew better, you did better”

I wish I’d known about the concepts of attraction and abundance when I’d started out. If I had, then perhaps I would’ve been less likely to bounce around and take so many different paths along the way.

On the other hand, I wouldn’t have developed the skills or learned the lessons if I hadn’t wandered and bumped around in the dimness for so long.

Which is why I hate “what if” questions - if you change one thing, the whole equation changes and you wouldn’t be the same person at all!

    Great post!

If I could go back and tell myself one thing I’ve learned, it would be CONSISTENT MARKETING!

I have been bad about easing up on my marketing efforts when I have a lot of work. But then the work ends, and I wonder where all the clients have gone!

Now I have a chart of marketing activities, and I look at it several times a week and check off the ones I’ve done. If I could give that list to my former self, I might have prevented some nervewracking financial ups and downs. But, you live and learn, huh? :)

    Hi,

I would probably have relaxed more!

I am totally content with everything that I have experienced and learned, even the hard things. It would have been better to have been nicer to myself and given myself a few extra vacation days, or massages, or other treats.

Hmmm, to decide on niche quickly, be consistent with my marketing efforts and to decide how much time I want to work and stick to it :)
