This week I will be concentrating on Facebook. Built initially as a way to connect students at Harvard University, Facebook still has a very studenty and fun feel to it. Now it has become one of the most popular of the social networking groups and more and more entreprenuers are looking very seriously at Facebook as a way to network.
The profile is very easy to set up but as it is clearly intended more for social rather than business networking, if you want to use it for the latter you will have to think carefully how to make the best use of the space. You can move the boxes around to customize your profile to most suit your intended purpose.
Then if you want to burn up several hours very happily indeed, take a look at the applications - there are over 2000 of them and whereas some are clearly not a good idea for business users (basically anything with the word “hot” in it) there are some very useful additions.
With My Questions you can ask your community questions to get to know them better.
Causes allow you to bring some attention to your favorite charities and causes.
Flog Blog allows you to integrate your blog onto your Facebook page.
I will bring you more tomorrow though I have to say that Facebook is very entertaining and I can see myself become addicted to it.
