Twitter Tips

Be very careful before adding any tools that automatically send the title of new blog posts to Twitter. I unfollowed someone today because I received a flood of tweets from them with all their new blog posts. It is obnoxious. Instead if your want to publicise a new blog post (and please do this sparingly!) then pose it as a question or make it very inticing to stand out in the crowd of blog promotions.

Go through the list of those you are following on a regular basis and purge anyone not giving you value. Have a day or two a month marked off to do this.

Facebook Tips

Have you written on someone’s wall today? Pick one of your friends and say hello.

Mari Smith, Facebook expert recommends removing all types of wall except the original. This is because you can’t control the type of videos that people send you (you can of course delete them but only after the fact). Some of the videos people send to walls are very inappropriate! Great advice Mari.
