To celebrate my 40th birthday today, I am sharing with you this song of peace. The brainchild of two of my UK countrymen, brothers Khurrom and Khaiyyam Mahmood, 8 out of the 10 most popular Pakistani pop artists were gathered together to record a song that makes it clear that most muslims are also against terrorism. 62.8 million Pakistanis signed a petition supporting this song. Peace begins with a common goal – we have that common goal and a beautiful song to boot.
So enjoy the video and the lyrics translated into English care of http://biglizards.net
We Are Not That
The story that is spread in our name is a lie
These stamps of death on our foreheads
are the signs of strangers
The name by which you know us
We are not that
The eye with which you look at us
We are not that
That is not us, not us
With the nightfall, one has lost one’s way
We are scared of the dark
So much that we are burning our own home
The Stories that are being spread in our name are lies
That is not us, not us
Tha name by which you know us
We are not that
The eye with which you look at us
That is not us, not us
