Here are some of the Facebook Apps that Mari recommends:

Web Presence (lists all your IDs over the various social networking sites)
Business Cards (at the time of posting this app was experiencing problems)
Twitter (displays Twitter updates – both yours and those you follow)
My Links (similar to Web Presence except that it displays the links with icons)
Blog Networks (make it part of your tabs)
FriendFeed

Some suggestions on how to build social networks successfully:(Mari made it clear that these are her own personal views)

1. Be careful with being overly self promotional as this turns off many.
2. Build the relationship slowly – do not rush in with possible joint ventures and the like before you have solidified the relationship over time.
3. Connect with people over a variety of social media and online presences such as blogs and Twitter. Show you are interested in them.

Daily Activities to make a strong Facebook Presence:

1. Update your status with something that is of value to your community.
2. Comment on stories in your news feed.
3. Use services such as hellotxt and ping.fm to update across a variety of social networks

Facebook is a great way to connect to people and potential clients. If you have a broad group of friends on it, you can find employees, advertise, and expand your easily.
