My first Blog Carnival

February 3rd, 2008 · 2 Comments

I mentioned in my goal post that I was going to be taking part in blog carnivals this month. My first one is taking place on Lexi Sundell’s blog, The Energies of Creation and is a mix of personal and business growth blogging. For the uninitiated, a blog carnival is organized and hosted by a particular blog usually either on a weekly or monthly basis and other bloggers are invited to submit posts that gel well with the genre of the carnival. The carnival idea is that these travel around from blog to blog with different blog hosts each time.

The advantage to the reader of carnivals is that they get introduced to hand-picked content that their favorite blog owner has chosen. The writers of the blogs get exposed to new readers. A win-win situation all around.

My personal favorites from the carnival was this hilarious internet marketing video

    Hi Katherine,

I am finally ready to start thinking about a blog carnival. There is always the next thing to learn and try!

Good work on your website here. I too am attempting to build a blog for my small home construction company. Its a long story, but I’m not very good at this techy stuff. I like the blog theme you have used here and was wondering what it was called? I bought Thesis but after about 2 weeks…I just gave up. It was way too complex for my simple mind. I want to supplement my bills in the winter time and thought I could do it by blogging. Its going to be a long road ahead. Anyway, I just stumbled across your blog here and am glad to have met you. virtually of course :-) .
