photo credit: EleafOn my blogtalkradio show. The Passion Project today, I will be talking to my good friend Judith Stephens. We will be discussing the difficult subject of money and how your mindset affects your ability to both earn and manage money.
It would seem on the surface counter-intuitive that anyone would actually WANT to be poor despite on the surface seeming to want money. But we all know people who just cant seem to hold on to any money that they do earn. There are people on six figure income who are sinking deeper into debt every month. Lottery winners usually end up in the same financial bracket that they were in before their windfall.
What is behind this? It has been referred to as our financial temperature – the degree to which we are comfortable with money. It is often set in childhood where we may have grown up with belief systems which included thinking rich people were in some way bad or that too much money corrupts. After that, however much we think we want to be rich, we end up sabotaging all efforts by either not earning much or by spending all that we earn to make sure that we do not become that evil rich person. Logically you can disprove the belief but if it is buried deep in our wiring then it can be harder to overcome.
Do you see patterns like this in your own life? Do you think your financial temperature is much lower than you would like? Join us today at 12noon EST to learn more.

Judging by my own life experience, this is very true. I’m looking forward to listening to Judith’s enlightened views on the subject!

Hi, Katherine, great topic.
I call it my financial set point. It used to be zero! – a clearing account, whatever money came in, went right out.
There is a practice I’ve done over the past 2 years to increase my openness to receiving wealth. It is called The Prosperity Game and is tool I learned about from the book, Ask And It is Given, by Jerry and Esther Hicks, This ‘game’ has helped me visualize and feel worthy to receive all the good things that the energy exchange of money and abundance can create.
Have a great call today, looking forward to listening later…
Best for now,
Mary

Mary, how powerful is it that you have not only realized that you had this zero set point but that you have found ways to raise it!
Sally, yes Judith is very passionate on the subject and also very knowledgeable. Thanks for listening.
