Blogtalkradio show : support mindset

August 28th, 2008 · 4 Comments

For my last show for mindset month, I am turning to the mindset that looks for and accepts effective support and I have for my guest, Debba Haupert from http://girlfriendology.com/. We will be talking about how to get support from your girlfriends in particular but the techniques can apply to anyone in your life. Our girlfriends can support us both directly in our business and also outside of it, giving us an outlet to have fun and forget business for a while.

Friday at noon EST, 11am CST, 10 am MST and 9 am PST.

Do you have a great group of girlfriends. I know my good friend Jenn Givler makes time for a monthly poker night with her gal pals - though it is reported that more laughing and talking goes on at those nights than poker!

I would love to hear how you all became friends, how often you get in touch, what sort of things do you do when you meet up? Maybe you have made some fabulous online friends as I have done. How are they different from your offline friends? Have you met them face to face yet?

Ah yes! We are actually gearing up for our monthly poker night tomorrow night - and I can’t wait.

Getting together with these women is amazing. Some of us are moms, some of us are entrepreneurs, some of us work for someone else, some of us are single… but we’re all women, and we all go through the same types of things.

It’s so wonderful to have a group of women that relate to exactly what you’re going through, who can lend you support - or who can just laugh with you when you need one of those really deep cleansing laughs.

Support is vital to success. Katherine, this is such an important topic and I’m so excited that you’re covering it!

Oh! And I should add that there are three of us who have been friends for over 27 years… is that amazing or what?!? We grew up supporting each other, and it continues to this day.

Jenn, you make me rather jealous. The big disadvantage of having moved so much is that I have left so many friends behind. I am still friends with the little girl I met when I was 5 and try to get with her when I go back to the UK and I have a few others from my childhood but again it is at most a once a year get together. Treasure your poker nights.

Ya know, I wonder if something like this could be started online… or via teleconference.

I have so many fabulous online friends - and Katherine, I know you do too ;)

I wonder if it would work for us to all get together once or twice a month just socially using some of the fantastic technology we use to connect for business… hmmmm….
